I personally found this blog interesting because of the amount of pictures used. There was a step by step direction on how to make an paper marbling out of shaving cream and a picture was provided for each individual step. This makes things easily referable and simpler to learn as well as teach to your class.
This blog is great because of the variety it offers. It has different tabs on her page for all types of mediums (3D sculpture, Paint and Paper, Textiles, Mixed Media). This is good because it shows that are so many different ways to create art beyond just paper and crayons. Her website also provided tabs for art projects that are related to each season!
Her blog is very helpful because it shows different projects from different age levels. Some teachers have to teach more than just one grade, esp art teachers, so this blog provides ideas for all ages. Just on the home page she has work done by 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 6th graders.
Kari's blog is different from the others. Hers is more centered towards the teaching aspects of art rather than how to's. For example she has columns titled "process vs product", "color theory" and "art stations". Her blog is very detailed and educational for a teacher. She also has videos at the bottom of the homepage which separates hers from others.
I chose this blog because I liked a specific project that she had her 6th graders do. She was getting her students familiar with their sketch book with an assignment that involved dividing their sketch book into 6 sections then drawing 5 assigned objects and 1 of their choice. This helps students express them selves. They may divide the 6 sections however they chose, and use different mediums. Another sketchbook assignment was printing out half of a picture of a celebrity and free drawing the missing half. I think this is a great assignment because it challenges the students and shows them that they can be surprised with what they are capable of drawing- (most people dread the thought of having to draw a person, but you would be surprised on how these turned out!)
